Finally, it is time to build Fort Worth Health Care in the emerging understanding that culture change can and does occur. It matters. It can be defined. It can happen.

HR PROFESSIONALS AS CHANGE AGENTS

If HR professionals are going to be change agents and design and manage both capacity for change and culture change, they need to master four Group Health Insurance Fort Worth agendas.

Catalyst/Champion/Sponsor

Frontier Communications found that a cultural transformation was necessary for it to compete in the changing telecommunications marketplace. To effect this transformation, Ronald Bittner (chairman, president, and chief executive officer) affirmed a vision of Frontier as the “premier telecommunication company in the world,” with a focus on products and Group Health Insurance Fort Worth customers. He articulated this view in the following statement.

To help facilitate the cultural transformation, Bittner hired a senior HR executive, Jane Sansone, who was given the explicit task of championing the change effort, with responsibility for ensuring that culture change was part of every management discussion, that models for culture change were created and implemented, and that  executive attention on culture change remained high. Similarly, at GE, and Sears, senior HR professionals were expected to add value by being Group Health Insurance Fort Worth change agents and champions of cultural change.

Facilitator

In addition to being the champion of change, HR professionals must help facilitate change. This was a primary role for HR professionals involved in GE’s Workout program. Three stages of HR facilitation were defined in Workout: external support, internal transition, and management ownership.

External facilitation support was central to the initiation of GE’s Workout activities. The external team leaders and team members helped create a receptive climate for Workout. With the political backing of the CEO, they built relationships across levels in the organization and framed Workout goals for each business. This role was an important catalyst in Workout’s early stages. As the program moved into a more institutionalized phase, however, the need for Group Health Insurance Fort Worth external facilitators was reduced, and this role was replaced by that of internal facilitator.
